Directions – How to get to the campsite

By car

From Bordeaux: Take the A10 freeway – Exit 25 at Saintes, direction Île d’Oléron.

From Nantes : Follow the freeway – Exit La Rochelle, then follow Marans / La Rochelle / Rochefort / île d’Oléron.

From Paris: Follow the A10 freeway – Exit La Rochelle / Rochefort, then follow Surgères / Rochefort / île d’Oléron.

The bridges over the Charente at Rochefort, the Seudre at Marennes / La Tremblade and Oléron are free of charge.

By bus

Transport in New Aquitaine (Rochefort, La Rochelle, Saintes, Royan, Saint-Jean d’Angely).

Route 6 express: Surgères > Saint-Pierre d’Oléron

To get around the island this summer, you can use the summer shuttles (see the different routes below).

These shuttles are free of charge throughout the summer (7 days a week from July 8 to August 26). They serve the main towns and beaches of the Ile d’Oléron.

By train / bus

The Ile d’Oléron and the Marennes basin are not served by train. However, at the La Rochelle, Rochefort and Surgères train stations, connections by coach or bus to the island and Marennes are available.

From Paris, get off at Surgères station: 3 h 00 (direct)

From Nantes, get off at Rochefort station: 2 h 17 (direct)

From Bordeaux, get off at Saintes station: 1 h 50 (direct)

How to book a combined train + coach ticket to the Ile d’Oléron :

Log on to the timetables and reservations page on the SNCF website

In the departure or arrival field, select one of the three island towns served by the coaches: Château d’Oléron, Dolus d’Oléron or Saint-Pierre-d’Oléron.

Combined train + coach tickets are available on reservation.

Please note: Throughout the summer, line 8 is extended to Saint-Pierre-d’Oléron.
*In addition to the bus, you can rent a car at the stations in La Rochelle, Surgères and Saintes.

By boat
